How to explain

How do I explain to my 7yo son he will never see his Nanny again? My mother has always had her issues and I’ve tolerated a lot from her and our relationship has been on and off for most of my life. We rekindled a few years ago as I thought maybe she’s not mixing her medication and alcohol anymore so she’s a little more normal now but no. On one night of her rages she told my child to tell the teacher we beat him (we don’t even smack our child, ever) and she was saying to him over and over.. then screamed in my face while holding my baby in my arms and basically I am done with her, forever. My 7yo loved her. I don’t know how to explain she’s evil and we can never be around her again? Obviously, he is too young to know what I’ve endured and too young to understand why what she was telling him was so damaging but I kind of ignore him when he asks and change subject.

I'm so sorry you've gone through this but it's 100% for the best. I think you need to be honest to a certain degree. Is therapy an option?xx

Nannie has had to go away to try and help herself get better and I don’t know when she will be back. I second therapy though for all of you xx

Definitely never let her around him again, a lot of my family members are very weird and they all call CPS on eachother when they have a simple fall out. I completely cut most of them out of our life because I fear if I do something they don’t like they put false claims out there. That’s a very dangerous game she’s playing and I would just explain to your son that she’s not well and we can’t see her until otherwise.

Nanny was doing things that were not very nice to us. This may be a lot for you to understand at your age but I need to make sure that our family is safe. Nanny needs to get some help from some doctors as I have tried to help her as much as I can but it was becoming unsafe for us to be around her. I know she loves you but sometimes people are not safe adults so I need to protect you from them
