Please be gentle

My in laws family are constant with always saying my son looks nothing like me and is he’s dads twin. It’s really becoming so much… now saying my unborn child will be the same too!!

That's something I wouldn't say to a pregnant person 🤨 why re they so mean ? Or are they joking around about

Is there something wrong with them thinking he looks like him? Have you tried telling them your feelings towards it . People say kids look like one parent more than the other all the time that’s not being mean at all that’s just their personal opinion. Try not to take it too personal as a blow towards you unless they mean it in a negative way then that’s totally different

I totally understand, I found it kinda Difficult because that’s how it was when my son was born. Even now a lot of people say it when now that he’s older he looks just like me in my baby pictures. People see what they want to see and your in laws are just happy that their son has a child and they have grandchildren. I would try not to take it personally!(I know it’s much easier said than done. And just hold onto hope, your next one may just be the spitting image of you!

For some reason I feel like inlaws always say they look like their own kid. Always remember that children change as they age! When my inlaws told me that my daughter looked like my husband, way too many times i just responded with "well yes it's his dad it'll be weird if she looked like the neighbor" 🤣

I think he's a good mix. My family tells me all the time that my daughter looks nothing like me and it's soo annoying

Aww he does look like you !

I think he looks more like you tbh x

He definitely looks like you! 😍

Parents remember what their kid looked like as a child. His parents remember him at your son's age, but they never knew you (presumably), so they have nothing to reference. It might be different if they had known you as a baby, but because they have no recollection of you to draw from, they're making a connection based on what they know. I wouldn't take it personally 💜

My mil said the same but it’s just her seeing her son as a kid again and I think that’s cute. It’s a connection. She looks like her dad because he is her dad and I think he’s handsome ☺️ try not to take it personally, we will probably see our children in our grandchildren’s faces too one day and reminisce. It is by no means them pushing you aside or insinuating that you have zero involvement xx

My fiancés family and MY family all say our daughter is his twin 🙃 totally get how you feel. I honestly think he looks a lot like you though! 🫶🏼

Mine are the same, in fact my mother in law tells me that my daughter looks like her. I just laugh and pretend I didn’t hear her. Your boy looks exactly like you ❤️❤️

The smile is urs the eyes are his

Beautifullllllllllllll baby btw

Omg my in laws are the same so annoying lol

The smile the dimples and the eyes are definitely you! The nose is your partners but I’d say baby looks more like you

I get the same. My nan even said to my partner ‘I think both the girls look like you but don’t tell Natalie as she’ll be jealous’ all whilst I was in the same room and I could hear? I was so annoyed as I just thought it was mean? If she felt I wouldn’t like it then why is it needed to be said? The way I think about it now is I wouldn’t change the way my girls look … regardless if they looked like me or their dad… their DNA is 50/50 and that’s it! Everyone sees different things I feel? It is so annoying though x

That child is like an absolute 50/50 of you both! You can really see some strong features from both of you in them!

My oldest looks like me. My youngest looks like his dad. But everyone tells me different about the little one. Don’t take it to heart. They change so much from birth to growing up. He may end up looking just like you. 🫶🏽 I also think he looks just like you and not like his dad! He’s got your dimple and hair colour!

I wouldn't overthink this tbh. You know he's yours, so I'd just say well he'll inherit my brains then won't he to balance it out 😅. My baby is the image of her dad (and my MIL lol) although people say she has my eyes, but I don't mind, as I think he's good looking so it's fine by me haha. My other kids also look so much like their dad (my ex) but they all have my eyes, which I love

I don't think it's that deep. Everyone said my son was his Dad's mini me until he was about 2, and then it was more that he was my mini me. He is currently my mini me, but I see his Dad in him, and his family does too. I also very much see my maternal grandfather in him, and he has my maternal grandmothers hair. It's out of live, it's not sinister. I think he looks like both of you ❤️

I think I see more of you in him than your hubby tbh! But I would try not to let it get to you, I suspect they are just excited to be reminded of when their kid was little. Does your family say he looks like you?

I think he looks much more like you than Dad actually! Ignore the in laws, they see what they want to see.
