Hoping im not the only one as need some support.

Soo i am only 10weeks however I had surgery in August which ment I needed steriods to keep me alive. Being pregnant with the steriods has caused GD. I know this as they tested for everything at mu 1st midwife appointment. They have said it will have to be insulin controlled . Any on taking insulin? Also I have no idea what I can eat.. nice meals wise . All I can think is meat and salad not any actually nice dinners or lunches. Any help would be most appreciated. This baby is my miracle ❤️

I preferred being on insulin tbh . Is it your food numbers or fasting numbers that are high. Mine was just fasting so I was inly on insulin at night xx

I think I'm about to go onto insulin, I was given the medformin tablets, but I had cramps and diarrhoea, so I stopped after the second day. Everyone I've spoken to said they prefer insulin. Medformin can be harsh on your stomach and cause vomiting or diarrhoea as side effects, I don't think there are many with insulin. X

It's my food numbers but I don't eat bad . Im on steriods and the steriods and pregnancy combined give me the diabetes so unfortunately I can do much about it. Xx

So I was told to avoid sauces as they have a lot of sugar in, use the nutritional label on food, green is good, yellow/orange is occasionally and red is avoid. I was told we can have chocolate but can't overindulge and have it with a meal. Switch to wholemeal pasta and breads, and basmatic rice is fine. Cheese is a safe food, so I eat a lot of cheese and crackers. You can still eat fruit, just don't eat a whole packet of grapes, 10 grapes is plenty. Your protein should be the size of your fist, the same as your carbs, and half your plate should be vegetables. If you drink tea or coffee, use sweetener instead of sugar. Diet drinks after perfectly fine to drink. X
