I feel selfish

I recently found out I was pregnant and I am deciding to keep it a secret but a lot of my family is mad that I will not allow them to share my news on to social media. I only told close family (mom , sisters brother, 3-4 aunts and uncles ) but they want to talk and tell others . Am I wrong for telling them they will not be apart of nothing I do from here on out for my child since they cannot respect my boundaries now I can’t imagine how they will act once I actually have the child . Yes I am a first time mom but I am also a older sister to 6 younger siblings and been a infant , pre-k and now kindergarten teacher all in da last 12 years so I have very good knowledge when it comes to children. To have one of my own that I created is different because I am their sole source of protection . Am I wrong ??

No. It's not their news to share. If you want to keep it private, that's well within your right to do so. If they don't like it, then tough 🤷🏽‍♀️.

I told my family when i was 4month…told some of my friends at 6 and most of the people i know that are not close dont even know yet. They were a bit upset at first but then the excitement kicked in :) so don’t worry about your decision..it’s absolutely your choice when and who to tell and they should understand it! 😘

@Ale I think I will be hiding it well at least keeping it to myself until I’m ready to actually tell people . I don’t want to do no gender reveal or baby shower , I’m real big on energy and positivity and I feel like there will be a lot of bad energy and negativity around and I don’t want that . People only being around because I’m pregnant or because they want to be around the baby I don’t like fake love . Am I wrong for that?
