Lantus?

Anyone else ever been put in or is on Lantus for their diabetes? I am 14w3d my MFM gave me Lantus. But, the endocrinologist says that’s not FDA approved and want me on humalin.

I'm not diabetic, but those are two different types of insulin. Lantus is long acting, humolog is short acting. Can't exactly compare the two equally.

I meant humalin.

Humulin is also short acting 🙂

@Samantha then idk what to do because I have my endo saying one thing and MFM another. My endo is saying the Lantus isn’t fda approved but humalin is.. and she wants me on humalin to bring down my fasting numbers

Hm, well I would think Lantus would bring down fasting numbers since it's typically taken once at night to act slowly overnight. Humulin is taken before meals to help with glucose spiking after eating. Ultimately it's whatever you feel most comfortable with. Do you have type 2 or gestational diabetes?
