Not settling for dad

Baby girl is 12 weeks old (6 corrected) she’s started not settling for her Dad he’s becoming increasingly frustrated and feels like he’s worthless because as soon as she comes to me she automatically stops crying she is currently battling cmpa so is in discomfort anyway but it’s now starting to make me feel like 💩 with her only settling for me. Part of me in a way loves it because I feel like it makes up for that extra time I lost being pregnant but anyway it’s resulted in me coming down onto the sofa in hopes if I’m not in the room she might settle for him. Does anyone have any advice or tips to help? Will this get better? Part of me just feels like going out for the day on my own tomorrow and leaving her with him but then I get worried because he gets frustrated he’d never hurt her but he starts to swear and huff and puff I feel like she picks up on that.

Preemie mom here too! Totally get the sentiment that you lost time. I think all babies go through phases of just wanting their mom. We had to do combo feeding so that helped him bond with her and feel like he contributes more. Honestly the biggest lesson I had to learn was that he will be able to comfort her it'll just not be how you'd do it or as fast but it's important for him as a dad to learn and for them to figure out their relationship. It will 100% get better. Shes little she won't pick up on it don't worry! They'll figure it out together ❤️

My baby use to bed the same but would settle on my partner and not me. My friends baby will settle woth her but not the dad. Its mainly a phase, what I would suggest if you do go out for the day is leave one of your used tshirts so if this does happen this could help. Keep persevering with dad having baby tho and eventually they will get use to him

Love and time! She just came into this world, and you are the only one she knows. Whatever you do, do it together so she can get used to both. Let him change diapers too, put her to sleep, bath, etc and this is how they will create their bond ❤️
