Am I a lazy slob? 🤦‍♀️

First off I’m a solo parent to a wild little 3 year old and things have got on top of me a bit lately so cut me some slack 😬 we have Friday to Sundays free every week. He’s been really sick so Friday and Saturday we’re just spent on the sofa watching movies and chilling or sleeping. It’s been horrible seeing him so sick but we’ve both needed the rest. Then my Mum calls this morning and says she’ll take him for the day to give me a break (bless her she thought I’d had it rough!). After 2 days of chilling I could’ve spent the day doing housework and one of the hundreds of things I say I’ve never got time to do but I’ve spent it on the sofa binging Netflix and eating snacks!

Even though it feels like you haven't been doing anything, you still need that mental break and time for yourself

@Sarah you know what you’re so right. I feel better than I’ve felt for ages!

As soon as I read "solo parent" ,I thought she can't be lazy ....enjoy your free time the way you like, resting is more than valid way to spent it, it's good for your mental health... the chores would still be there anyway

Absolutely not lazy! We need to start seeing rest as a good use of our time… the chores can wait. Whenever I have time without my son I try to do things I can’t really do with him around, things that fill my cup x

I'm a solo mom too. When I get a break sometimes I don't eat for 24hrs+. I only leave my bed to use the toilet , to then go back to bed again. Hope this helps you feel better.

Ah thanks everyone. I felt like I was being particularly lazy because I’d actually just had 2 days of being lazy with my son as he was poorly so should really get something done. But chilling on your own is a lot different to chilling with a sick child!
