My daughter struggled with shoes for a bit. I just kept putting them on her a few times a day for five or so mins. She eventually got used to them and now is absolutely fine with walking.

We went with barefoot friendly shoes so they didn’t restrict his foot movement. Clark’s shoes tend to be very ridged and have a heel rise that adjusts their natural walking gait. Try happylittlesoles.com for more information on the benefits of barefoot shoes. My little one has been walking from 9.5 months and has only ever been barefoot (in summer) or with barefoot shoes. He is very confident running around, attempts to jump and loves to climb 🥰

My little boy is 17 months today and he only in the last month started to walk properly in shoes, he flat out was hysterical at first and wouldn’t wear them. We start with jelly bottom sock shoes then eventually he took to shoes x

Same as Amber, we went for barefoot shoes. They are so light, flexible and not clunky. They aren't as cute but kids can't really feel them so they still walk well. There's research that suggests they are better for their feet developing too. We also only put shoes on when she really needs them - so walking around outside. If she's in the pram or we are going straight inside to a baby group I keep her just in socks. She knows shoes mean she's going for a toddle or to the park so she's happy to wear them and gets excited to put them on!

@Kate my little boy has some really cute tikki shoes that I think are super adorable 🥰 I do agree though. Some of them look a bit well…. Strange but some are really gorgeous

@Amber Mine has some from Bobux which I like. They do very cute sandals I can't wait to get for the summer! But sometimes I see tiny Vans/Converse etc and want to buy but I know she would hate them and wouldn't walk as well so I'm sticking with barefoot for now!
