Clapping

My little boy has just turned one , he’s hit all milestones and is nearly walking but no matter what I do he won’t clap or wave , should I be concerned

Just keep clapping and waving at him. Sing if you're happy and you know it. So long as you feel he's communicating in other ways, babbling, smiling, waving arms around, crawling towards where he wants to go etc - I'm sure not waving is fine! They all pick things up in different orders. I'm sure your little one can do things mine can't etc.

Mrs Rachel really encourage my boy to clap and wave I feel but positive reinforcement and just keep on trying with him. The only videos we watch is the Elmo singing one and the I love the rainbow singing one😂

Clapping and waving are both social skills and they all take their time! As long as your baby is keeping regular eye contact with you (or other main carer) I wouldn’t worry at all x

My baby is 1 today and he only started clapping last week, I think it’s because he recently started watching ms rachel and is obsessed with her
