My little boy doesn’t mind shoes, but I struggled so much to get the Clarks shoes on his feet and he got so impatient. Plus he could kick them off so easily. We just got some Geox shoes and they open nice and wide so they’re really easy to get on his feet. He can even step into them. He also can’t kick them off! @Lisa I can't even get any on mine! He literally has a complete melt down if I even come near him with one 😫
@Heather we've tried all different styles of shoes so that's not the problem. It's any and all shoes 😔
Oh no! Have you tried leaving his shoes around his play area before he goes to play there for him to play with? My little boy always goes for the shoe rack and his shoes end up absolutely everywhere, he likes playing with them 😂. Does he watch you take your shoes on and off, and do you talk to him about what you’re doing?
@Heather yeah, they're always left out in the living room where he plays. He just picks them up and throws them angrily though! He loves getting mine and his dad's shoes out and helping us put them on, which we over exaggerate how great this is and how much we love wearing shoes 😂 but he just won’t tolerate them for himself!
@Olivia we've tried various different styles, hates them all so far. I've ordered some wellies so we can try with those. We do leave them out with toys but he picks them up and throws them angrily. We have made it really positive/a game about putting them on and when we put ours on too. He also puts them on our feet. But won't tolerate them for himself at all.
@Rebecca have you tried crocs? They’re a big love with kids, especially with jibbitz. I know crocs are appropriate this time of year but it may make him interest.
@Olivia yeah tried them 😢
It could be a sensory thing. My first born hated wearing certain clothes when she was a toddler, then when she could communicate it's just that she was sensitive to certain fabrics and seams etc. She's 9 now and is slowly getting better x
@C I do think it could be sensory but I don’t know how to address that as not wearing shoes isn’t an option.
Have you teied some slippers to wear in the house like a character he likes maybe? Have you tried light up shoes ?
@Aimee 🍓 yeah sock shoes were the first kind we tried! We’ve finally had success with his crocs now! Xx
@Ash we've finally had success with his crocs!
@Rebecca don’t blame him crocs are my favourite 🤣♥️
