Mothers groups?

Hi all, I was just wondering how joining a play group through the MCHN works? I’ve had multiple health nurses ask if I want to join a mothers group and I’ve said yes but haven’t heard anything? Do they organise a group for you? I go to the Armstrong Creek East community hub centre for bubs health appointments, I’m pretty sure on Wednesday’s they have a mothers group but I’m not 100% sure 🤔🥰

Keep asking, I was overlooked also and it made me very sad, my daughter was preemie too and when I was finally added to a group it was children 3months younger than her (she was 3months early). I believe mchn should link you but apparently some people slip through the cracks

Hi Remy, MCH runs new parent groups (mothers groups) and can also refer you to playgroups organised by the council. If it's a mothers group you're after definitely chase up the MCHNs, even give them a call if you don't have an appointment coming up. Sometimes they wait until they have enough babies in the area to start a new one up. From memory the babies in my group were 2-3 months when we started. Playgroups tend to be for older babies/kids and will have mixed ages, but I highly recommend them! You can self-refer to council playgroup here https://www.geelongaustralia.com.au/directory/item/8dd409007155eb5.aspx

Thanks so much for the help ☺️
