Running post partum

Is anyone here running? When did you start / plan on starting after birth? I am 5 weeks pp and do like 1 km run with 2 rests (so approx. 3 times x 300 meters) However read online that running is high intensity exercise and shouldn't be done until 3-6 months post partum. Is that for professional athletes? I do as much as I can while pushing myself a little but staying conscious not to overdo it. Looking for someone to share their experience please or any advice? I am not reaching out to my useless GP to check with them and don't have the means for professional trainer hence checking the collective wisdom here ☺️

Hi I am 4 weeks pp and looking to start running next week. I have been listening to my body and been doing lots of walking to build up to it, then when I run as you said just going to listen and not push too much. There is lots of conflicting advice but you need to do whats right for you. Happy for you to message if you want to go on the journey together!

From someone who had prolapse last time...this is the main thing I'd be worried about when it comes to running! You can get a physio mummy MOT to check. Make sure pelvic floor muscles are strong before doing high intensity exercise - trust me!

I got back into running at 6 weeks after my first baby, alongside mummy and baby yoga. By 5m pp I ran a half marathon again and had no issues with my recovery or next pregnancy
