I think it’s a girl thing and not anything personal. My partner used to feel this way with our son because he only ever wants me. But now he goes to dad for fun and me for comfort.

My son does this with my fiancee too, doesn't matter the gender, kid just loves both parents and is excited to see the other finally. Your kid just wants to spend time with dad when he's around, be glad that they have a good connection most people here complain about their kids dad's wanting nothing to do with them
