Am I being ridiculous?

Okay I just need to know if I’m being crazy or not. My oldest sister when she visits is always on her damn phone. Whether it’s playing on it or shoving it in my daughter’s face to take pictures/videos of her or FaceTiming everyone. It irks me so badly idk why, but I gotta know, am I being ridiculous? I wish she would just put the phone down and be WITH her

No you aren’t being ridiculous. She’s obviously addicted to her phone. Not really much you can do other than tell her how you feel about it.

@Kira I know she won’t change. She’s in her late 30s and I know with her she would just find a way to turn it back on me. I’m glad to know I’m not being crazy though. I know with family I can be blind and sometimes think I’m not in the wrong. You’re right though, she does seem pretty addicted to her phone.

This would annoy me!!

The Petty Betty part of me would want to take pictures of your daughter with her in the back just on her phone to show how much of the visit she was on her phone and how silly it is...

@Robyn actually laughed at this 💀 I’m gonna have to remember this for next time

I don’t think it’s a big deal to a point. If you don’t want baby in pictures just say that. Some ppl don’t realize how often they are on the phones because society has made phones relevant in every aspect of life how days. Just be like hey sis if you here with the baby I would like it to be a phone free visit. I’m in my late 30s and I feel that just give her some communication to express your concern love

This is soooo common. Let her know you want to minimize her screen time and ask her to interact with her more. Nothing is mean or irrational about asking

No your not. A simple answer to this is to only create a safe time for a visit. Meaning, a time your patience can tolerate it. Nobody has to know your simple boundary. You don't want family drama or to hurt your sister. Just placing very innocent and kind boundaries is ok.
