“They told me not to tell mommy and daddy”

My LB has come out of nursery today saying this. He’s never used this term before and things like this are not said around him as far as we are aware. I do know the nursery are having some staffing issues and there was a girl from another room in his room today. My hubby said he saw in the window as she was collecting my LB to bring him out her rolling her eyes with him, clearly frustrated. How much do I go out of my head here with worry? I’m asking him but can’t seem to get anymore out of him? What would you do? Shaking with worry x x

I would be asking for a meeting with the manager asap preferably first thing in the morning. Is that all he said or has he said what they don’t want you knowing? X

I agree, I would call a meeting and discuss xx

I would say the rolling of the eyes has been seen also and you’d like to know more x

They must be hard to see for the dad as well. I wouldn’t ask for a meeting next time you go say you want a word and say your peace. If something further comes up I would make it more official x

I would definitely call for a meeting to get to the bottom of it. Hopefully it’s nothing, but whatever it is isn’t acceptable to say it imo. I’d also mention the rolling of eyes, I wouldn’t be happy with that when you’ve trusted someone to look after your toddler

100% follow the nursery safeguarding process. Could be nothing but also could be a safeguarding concern. Not over reacting to raise it at all. Both need noting as incidents. Eye rolling is low level concern but the phrase he has said is higher I’d say. Don’t panic though 99% of time probably nothing. Could have given him an extra biscuit. But they need training to understand that phrase is not ok to use and could put child at risk elsewhere.
