Anyone with a velcro toddler?

My LB is very attached to me. Even in a room with other family members, he'd come up to me and want to sit on my lap. He wants me as his play buddy in the house. Keeps going mummy mummy when I leave the room. When I take him to the playground with his mates, he'd rather be near me than running around and playing with them. Is this normal? Not sure if I am doing something at home that makes him more clingy to me and I should stop doing it...

We are experiencing this at the minute and my little boy was always so confident and would go to anyone. Think it's a little phase he is going through and very common at this age. He has definitely never been a mummy's boy and he is attached to me (unless Daddy is around). He is a very sociable boy but at the minute I feel he is happier being at home and playing on his own or with me than at mums and tots groups etc. but I think this is very normal

Mine has always been a mamas boy and even now if his cousins come over, he plays with them but wants me there in the background in the same room 🤣 I actually don’t mind it lol. Cause he also plays independently and is okayish if I leave the room for a bit. But definitely is more clingy at other times n will leave everything n everyone and follow me to the kitchen. Kinda cute tbh 🥰🥹

Velcro toddler here! Won’t even entertain his dad. Doesn’t play independently as much now and wants me to play and will hold my hand and drag me round the house to do different activities! I think he’s distracted but the moment I leave the room he will chase after me. Feel really bad for his dad because he tries so hard but my child just isn’t interested in him 🙃 x
