Hey beautiful queens, I have a question.

My baby boys (2yr old) toe is hurting, he’s saying it’s his big toe specifically. I have 2 other boys and this is new for me. It’s hurting so bad that he’s kicking his leg and hitting that foot with his other. I’m worried because he doesn’t really act like this! He hasn’t hurt his foot at least to my knowledge I feel like if it was a break or fracture he would’ve screamed In pain which hasn’t occurred for some time. Has this happened to any of y’all’s kids at this age? I’m thinking it’s a growth spurt but i be paranoid with my kids so idk. I might take him to urgent care anyway, I just would like to know y’all’s two cents about it! Oh and he’s also a preemie, if that matters! Thank yall 💜

How long has he been complaining about it?

@Brittany Just Today, he mentioned it once at breakfast then when he woke from his nap he started complaining a lot more, even whining and the kicking and stuff.

When you touch it or lightly pinch it does it hurt? He would recoil in pain if it was broken or fractured and in a few days it would likely swell. I’d just let it play out personally if it’s not painful to touch

Sounds like it could possibly be cramping?

Idk if it applies but we often get something called a “stone bruise”. It’s not really related to stones at all it’s just from putting a new amount of pressure on one area of the foot that causes it to feel bruised. I get them quite often and my daughter gets them occasionally too. It hurts for a day or two but will eventually go away. Not really much you can do about it honestly. If it’s really causing distress then I would try some Tylenol or Motrin for the pain. For any swelling or actual bruising you should seek advice from the doctor.

@Savy he does walk on his tippy toes a lot 😭 idk but I’m gonna give it a day or two to see how it’s feeling and looking. He’s not complaining anymore after I gave him Tylenol. Hopefully it’s nothing bad. 💜 Thank you for commenting I appreciate it!

@Emily it’s hard to tell because he’s dramatic so just me picking up his foot he’ll say “no no mom don’t touch it.” So idk lol. I did try doing it and he kinda reacted but idk if it’s just because he doesn’t want me touching his foot because of the pain. I did look for swelling and compared both toes but they look the same. There’s a small red dot on the toe he says hurt so idk maybe he hit it or stepped on something? Idk girl. I’ve thought about a lot 😅 but I appreciate you commenting love really.

Maybe check his toe nails to see if it’s in growing, maybe some dirt or something is under it causing the pain.

In grown toenails are really painful. It’s something I’ve suffered with on and off since being a child

Ingrown toenail?

My son also sometimes says his foot hurts.. sometimes its the toe sometimes its the bottom of the foot. But it goes away so I just thought maybe his foot is asleep or growing pains! I remember when i was young my feet hurt too sometimes.. but if it persists for a long time i would go check it out!! Hopefully he’s just growing!

Is he maybe outgrowing his shoes and that’s why his big toe hurts ?

It’s not an ingrown nail haha that was the first thing I checked. His toe nail wasn’t that long but I cut it anyway just in case if it was the corners. It’s not his shoes because I just ungraded his size, I could double check that though because he did get a little taller so honestly his feet are probably getting bigger too. Which is craaazy because he literally got a new shoe size month and a half ago lol. So thank you for thank I’m gonna check. Someone also mentioned his foot being asleep. I did think that at first because he legit woke up from his nap, walked over to me with eyes barely opened yet 😂 and started crying saying his toe hurts. After 5-10 mins after walking around and such he comes back and still complained about it. After the Tylenol he hasn’t complained about it so I’m thinking it’s growing pains (growth spurt) I’m still going to keep an eye on it though fs just in case. Again thank yall, I appreciate the ideas to get my gears going.

Get him checked could be nothing serious but better to check it out
