First night without the dummy🫣😬

So I said a week ago in a post that we weren't ready to part with dummy, too tired for that at the moment. Decided tonight was the night, though. I tried last night but he was having none of it. So my husband said OK tomorrow night (tonight) do you think you can be a brave boy and go without? Oliver said yeah. And his new saying at the moment is "deal! Shake on it" 😅 I didn't bring dummy upstairs with me tonight, we said can you remember what we said last night. He said yes but was pleading with us to get dummy. 😥 I honestly nearly gave in. His little face, sounds silly, but I felt quite emotional . He's growing up too quick. Need to try persevere though. He was upset but I kept saying how brave and strong he is, little babies need it more. Youre a big boy now and need to protect teeth. So proud of you. I said if he can go all night I will buy him some stickers. He said cow stickers 🤣 He then stopped asking for it , asked me for a cuddle then dropped off to sleep. I'm expecting him to wake up in the night asking for it but hopefully won't be too bad. Wish us luck🤞💙

Hope it went well! xx

@Kel he didn't make a peep all night. Didn't even mention it this morning. He usually doesn't give dummy up until he gets his breakfast. Hoping it's not just a fluke. Fingers crossed for tonight 💙

Two nights without it now 🥰 whinged couple times for it but forgot about it quickly. He asked for cuddles and fell asleep. He's sleeping out at grandparents tonight so hope he will be just as good. Hope she doesn't end up using theirs. Horrible thick ones. Xx

Well done! I’m still trying to get brave enough to do it 😅

@Catherine go for it. Honestly so much easier than I thought. 4 nights without now. No even crying for it in the night which I thought would happen. He has actually slept better without it. He didn't even ask for it once when he stopped at grandparents sat night. He asked for it last night but he wasn't distressed. He said babies don't need it, Oliver does. Got in to bed without a fuss though and forgot about it. As long as he gets cuddles. He has started licking his bottom lip though. Always something that replaces something haha. I told nursery this morning how proud I am, they didn't even realise he used a dummy, said there are no signs in nursery that he has a dummy. Xx
