Anything super soft and not the same size/shape as his windpipe... Avocado, veggies steamed until very soft, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, baked salmon, banana cut into quarters then thin slices. My baby struggles with choking so I basically cut everything small enough that it doesn't technically have to be chewed (though encourage chewing and such and she does but I make it small enough either way).
It definitely gets easier, trust the process! My girl is 9 months now and will eat pretty much anything with confidence now, it's amazing! Something she had about 6 weeks ish ago she struggled with, however she's had it again this last couple of days and she's like a pro now, as she's had more practice with chewing. Stick with it x
All food is stressful even if it's just the mess afterwards. If you remember "if they're red let them go ahead. If they're blue it's up to you" it might help you're anxiety a little. We're 9 months and she will eat anything and everything. We started with steamed broccoli and she's now eating grilled cheese sandwiches and beef (more sucking the life out of beef but she loves it)
