diet

My son is 5 and he is only weighing half a stone more than his just turned 2 year old sister, he has autism and his diet is very restricted. While we do make and encourage him to eat home cooked, nutritious meals he refuses most of the time. He only eats a handful of foods and misses entire food groups, he is looking pale and tired at the moment and Im worried about the effect his diet is having on him.. could anyone recommend any solutions or suitable supplements please ? Thank you! x

If he is looking pale I would suggest get complete blood work done. You also mentioned is is tired Does he easily bruise or have unexplainable bruises?

ALSO SEE IF HE HAS EDS

I love ellaola vitamins. It’s a tasteless powder you can mix into just about anything

My daughter is 12 years old and she has autsim and she will only eat certain food if I make home cooked meal she either won't eat it or she eat some thats it. When she was younger she used eat everything now she dietitian as we was worried that she was to skinny. She just had bloods done. Also they told me give her vitamins and there giving her milkshake supplements too. If your worried and he looks pale and tried I would get him check.

thank you, this is all very new to me- how would I contact a dietitian would it just be through the GP?

@Chloé I would thought so that bring up with them and see that gets referred just say your worried about him as he don't eat much. I went through my daughter doctor at hospital as she under because she got epilepsy. I just said I was worried bout her eating as she looks so skinny and she referred us.

Probably he is low on iron. Have a look at http://mightykidssupplements.co.uk
