Dinner ideas for baby?.

Anyone got any pictures of dinners that they’ve been given their baby recently? My baby is eight months old now feel like he’s just having the same purée stuff all the time at the moment. We have a meal subscription and a lot of the stuff in that he isn’t allowed to eat so find it quite hard thinking of stuff to cook for him separately.

I too can find it difficult and have previously been advised ‘just give baby whatever you’re having for dinner’ but this isn’t always helpful and my partner works late so we have dinner a lot later than ‘normal’. If I make a meal that I think baby can have then I save leftovers and she will eat it the next day for dinner. However, baby really has no concept of breakfast, lunch and dinner at this age so some of her meals are just a jumble of whatever I have laying around🤣 I can add some random photos below of some dinners she’s had and hopefully that helps x

We also do loads of pasta/orzo recipes and pancakes/fritters which are so easy x

Why wouldn't he be allowed? There's barely anything they can't eat, unless your baby has allergies

Puff pastry also is a god send can make so many different things we do pizza rolls, fruit twists, ham and cheese ect x

They can have literally everything.. why can’t they have what you’re having? My boys had lamb potatoes veg and gravy last night and tonight he’s got a burger with sweet potato fries and a salad and tomorrow he will have a cheese and tomato pizza with cucumber sticks.. as long as there is no honey you’re fine x

@Erin aww I like this ☺️

@Erin how old is your baby? ☺️

@Ibby She’s just turned 8 months 😊

We also use a food subscription box and I find if you read the recipe in advance you can make some things 'up to a point' and take a bit out for baby then continue to add things like stock / pastes for adults. Not ideal but could be a solution some nights? x

There are a couple of good books around that really helped me give variety and nutrition. Annabel Karmel and Charlotte Stirlings are both good

@Erin these all look great ! Unfortunately little one can’t have egg or dairy so it’s so tricky 😬

@Rebecca diary and egg allergy

@Courtney wow these are great thank you

@Courtney this is great idea! As he has an egg and diary allergy and jusy looked this is clear of them! Thank you , will have to think of some fillings

@Elena he has an egg and diary allergy. Also hello fresh has such random spices and stuff in their meals

@Nicola yeah this is what we have managed to do a lot of the time thanks ☺️

They can have spices and everything x

My daughter is dairy free and has a very varied diet. There are so many great recipes out there, just switch out ingredients for dairy/egg free options. Most books will give you options for these

My girl is also dairy free and it's been easy tbh, as there's so many alternatives now for cheese and milk. Plus, babies can have spices! My girl was eating baby friendly chilli con carne 😅
