Not drinking milk

Hi, This week my 7 MO has drastically slowed down on her milk intake and I’m concerned/ want to know if you have any advise. She’s having like 2/3 oz of every bottle and then just closing her mouth shut. Refusing to drink anymore. Not changed her bottles or her formula. She does have solids but also shown less interest too. Offering calpol and teething gels before feeds to try and improve. I’ve tried different rooms/ different people and still no luck. It’s really starting to stress me out. Please help.

Don’t worry about it. My daughter did the same. It’s all down to teething xx

@Paige how long did this last? Is there any point in trying to swap bottles etc? Xx

Baby won’t let themselves go hungry. It’s most probably down to teething, keep offering milk and meals as you usually do. Maybe try some teething remedies before feeds. It should pick back up again within a week or so. Any concerns of dehydration (less than 6 wet nappies in 24hours) or baby starts to act differently or you’re worried in any other way then just contact your HV or GP/ out of hours. Xxx

@Cerys thank you it’s my first and I feel like it’s so worrying xx

It really is! I know how you feel. It’s really hard, especially because 90% of the time you’re just guessing. You’re doing a great job keep at it xx

It stopped once her teeth came through. And then every time she was teething after that the same thing happened. They will eat if they are hungry, unfortunately just have to keep offering it to them
