That's absolutely fine. My little one has it every day.
My little boy will eat 1 and a half weetabix with a mashed banana in. Whenever I try any other breakfast he hardly eats much at all. So I find myself reaching for the weetabix more and more because I know it will fill him up. We’ve tried toast, egg, Rice Krispies, porridge etc he just isn’t interested in much else at breakfast time x
@Hayley it’s so hard because I usually give her some kind of bread for lunch so don’t want to then offer her toast in the morning too, I just think it’s a minefield especially when I see videos on TikTok of mums making their babies all these lovely foods three times a day🤣xxx
Thank you girls, this has put my mind at ease! There’s always something to feel guilty about as a mum isn’t there🤣🫣xxx
Every morning my little one has pancakes strawberry’s apples and bannans. He only has something else if I don’t have that breakfast in for him. He absolutely loves that breakfast xx
Of course you’re not a bad mum! Weetabix is fortified with vitamins and minerals so is nutritious. You could always try adding extras like fruit, nut butter, ground nuts and seeds, desiccated coconut etc to change it up a bit. My boy loves Weetabix too and has decided he no longer likes readybrek! I do batch cook healthy pancakes, oat bars and muffins etc but he doesn’t always eat them
Hey guys, eggs we have every day - if your baby isn’t soo keen on them on their own, perhaps you can scramble them with some butter and cheese, or what we do is mash half an bananas and whisk it together with one egg and make little banana omelettes she loves them! Plus whatever she doesn’t eat, can just save for lunch. Absolutely not a bad mum, but weetabix isn’t nutritious at all, I would definitely go down the whole foods route or even just have some meat and mashed veggies or stewed fruit with some yogurt for breakfast 🌸🌸
Of course you can give wheetabix for breakfast. It's a good choice - it contains fortification with vitamins including iron. Plus its a good way to get the calcium in via milk. I switch it up with oatibix and add different fruit/fruit puree or sometimes yoghurt. My LG loves it and when I try to give her something else she's disappointed! Yes it is nutritious, and don't let others make you feel like you have to constantly cook this that and the other just for baby. Especially if LO won't eat it and you end up throwing it away. There's so much mum guilt/shaming for every little thing.
We do porridge 90% of the time in the mornings as she’ll eat it with minimal fuss, and so I don’t worry she’s not full 🤷♀️ (plus it’s easy to not have to think about!) We do sometimes have different things but mostly porridge!
My question would be why would you choose something that is fortified with ‘vitamins’ when you can choose an option that already contains vitamins and minerals in its whole form that synergistically work together to provide the right building blocks for the baby. I have a background in nutrition of 4 years, so I can definitely assure you weetabix isnt healthy option. Doesn’t mean anyone is shamed - every mama is doing their absolute best and it is soo soo hard, even picking food on a daily basis, but my guess if you’ve asked a question it’s because your intuition is behind why you are asking ✨
@Amy what would be a nutritionally good breakfast option? My LG has porridge everyday with fruit on the side, either banana, strawberries, grapes, apple, pear or a mixture. And if she’s still hungry I’ll give her some of my toast.
I 100% agree with @Amy
Not at all. I tend to add diff fruit into it at home. LO has plain porridge at nursery 3 days a week which she seems to enjoy
We do weetabix, banana and peanut butter roll ups and scrambled eggs. Alternate between the three! If he eats it and is happy that’s all that matters!

You’re doing great mama 💕 i feel like the more effort I put into cooking the less baby eats so I also lean on certain foods to make sure baby is full!😊 If you are looking to switch it up have you tried greek yoghurt with fruit? I find it so quick to make and my baby finishes it every time. I usually just mash a ripe banana and add greek yoghurt. I love that you can add lots of different fruit if you want ie passionfruit strawberries blackberries even avocado 🥑 might be worth a try ! 💕
Following as we only really alternate between porridge and weetabix!
