Is anyone’s todddler hitting??! I have no idea why mine hits.. it’s only when he’s feeling upset. He slaps family members … and I do speak firmly to him and tell him we don’t hit people and tell him what he can do with our hands!

My son does he is delayed in speech but still communicates with his hand but the minute I get firm with him and say no he makes a mad face and hits the wall,door or even me it’s a stage there going through just keep doing what your doing

When my toddler was reported hitting at school a few different times, we started teaching her that “hands are for helping, not hitting” and showing her what that means.

yup, mine does the same thing, he doesnt know how to communicate verbally yet, but understands a lot.
