@Katy some are. Have you taken a super close look at eggs when you crack them open? If you look closely in the yolk there will be a white-yellow ish colored bullseye close to the center if it's fertilized. It also depends on the brand you get. If you get the free range or cage free eggs then they tend to have roosters to guard them, which can give you fertilized ones.

@Robyn technically there can be because your body has a period because the egg hasn't embedded into your uterine lining and thus your body has to prepare for the next egg. That egg might still be floating in there and your body doesn't want a useless egg in there does it? But either way an egg is basically a chickens period. When they're no longer of an age like us through menopause they stop making eggs. And typically would be eaten by us. You also don't always ovulate on that cycle. I conceived during my period. When I was late I wasn't expecting my due date to be when it was as she was conceived during my period which was 8 days long
