Report that shit. He needs to know that it's not OK and that you won't tolerate it. The law is on your side, but they need to know. If he acts like it's not a big deal or that you deserved it, that will be very telling about where he stands and thus his ability to change. He won't change unless he wants to, but you're in control of what you will accept in your life. If there are no consequences, the likelihood of him doing it again, and doing worse, goes up.
