Not coping with toddler and newborn

Please can someone tell me it’s hard at the beginning but it will get better… my 2 year old has started having horrendous tantrums to the point he is shaking and sweating so much because he’s got himself so wound up. Its because his baby brother arrived a week ago and I don’t think he’s adjusting. I just don’t know what to do anymore

It will get easier ❤️ they are adjusting and it will take time. When the baby naps and toddlers awake, try to spend someone on one time with them.

It’s so hard the first few weeks. You will get through it, and everyone will adjust, it just takes time and patience. The biggest thing that seemed to help us was not “blaming the baby”. It’s hard to avoid; but try not to say things like “we can do that after I feed the baby” or “don’t be so loud the baby is sleeping”. They turn that into resentment and get more jealous. But you’ve got this, just take breaks when you need them.

Gosh, the first few weeks were so hard. ... I made several boxes for my toddler that only came out when I fed baby (as this seemed to be a particular tough time). The boxes had toys in that he never saw at any other time so were exciting. I just bought cheap sensory bits for them.... But seemed to help a bit
