Their gums are hard enough to chew and bite a lot of things! Even with no teeth
My baby has no teeth but chews pretty well with gums....we do stuff on toast (cheese/avocado/nut butter), pastas, bulgur wheat, lentils, veg sticks, sweet potato sticks, flaky fish, pancakes.
@Rebecca we tried toast and melty puffs.. i am just afraid to offer like pasta as she might choke.
They learn to chew through being provided the opportunity to eat a variety of different textures. I was so nervous for a few months of her choking but within a few months she was able to chew properly using her gums and now eats all sorts whilst only having two teeth. I do feel you as I held back a lot with this x
You can give them everything they don’t need teeth to chew.. they use their gums and saliva to break the food down x
They can have anything gums are strong enough as per other comments
Babies don't need teeth to chew! Their gums are rock solid. My baby from the beginning has just been eating what we eat. She loves strawberries (give really large ones whole) bananas and pears. Broccoli, carrots and sausage! We had spaghetti meatballs and she devoured the meatball first! (Again served whole)
Have you tried scrambled eggs? Or omelette? Pasta/toast/crumpets/rice/salmon/tuna. My boy just sucked on toast and crumpets before his teeth came through.
