BF only once a day

Baby is just over 7 months, was exclusively BF until 6.5 months and since then I've been decreasing this and started formula as I'm going back to work in April and don't want to pump during the day etc. If possible I'd like to keep feeding him just once a day for now but I'm not sure whether I'll keep getting a supply if I'm doing it so little. He's now having bottles of formula all day (and food as he's weaning) and I've just been BF if he wakes in the night. Sometimes he wakes twice so he'll have a feed from each side during the night but sometimes he is only waking once so I'm only doing 1 feed on 1 side in a 24 hour period - will my supply completely dry up doing this? I'm not getting any engorgement anymore and my boobs feel empty but I know I'm still getting a let down when he feeds and I can hear him gulping but I assume this is basically just a snack amount really now 😅

My daughter is 2 in May and I’ve been trying to wean her off. She’s never had formula, a bottle or a dummy so it’s been difficult to wean her off as the boob is her main comfort. I only breastfeed her once a day (sometimes twice), mainly for sleep. My supply is nowhere near as much as it used to be but I still produce enough breastmilk for when she wants it for bedtime xx

@Chai thank you! I have no issue with the fact that my supply has decreased right down but it's reassuring to know it should stay at this level for as long as I want to keep feeding like this 😊 xx

It’s different for everyone but obviously you can do things to help like eating and drinking plenty ☺️xx

Thank you! My other issue now is I'm getting quite sore 😅 I guess my nips are getting used to a lot less abuse from my teething little one 🙃 his top teeth are cutting at the moment and his initial latch is a bit vicious 🤣
