Is your August baby responding to their name

I know sometimes they respond to the sound etc. but I’m worried about my 7 month old. He doesn’t seem to know his name yet.

Yes. But he’s a bit like my cat - he knows his name, but that doesn’t mean he’s gonna do what I say.

I say that she responds to her name but I have no idea if she’s responding to my voice or her actual name. However every time I say something to her I’ll say her name first. Eg ‘Lana’ *wait for her to look at me* and then talk to her. However whenever I say her name now she usually turns around to look at me, unless she’s really interested in what I’m doing and then she ignores me 🤣

Yes, she also has started understanding a few other words (like she waves when we see bye bye, can do high five, tries to jump when I say bam bam & gets excited if i ask if she wants her baa baa) All babies are different though, my 2nd is still lucky to respond to me now and hes 2 🤣

Does the baby respond to other stimuli, such as loud sounds, clapping, or singing in the home? It would be worthwhile to consult the general practitioner to have the baby's ears checked; there may be a buildup of wax muffling sounds. Alternatively, like many babies, he may simply be selectively responding to his name
