Mines sitting on his own for short periods of time and falling back. Would rather do planks, balance on belly or rock back and forth than crawl though. He tends to spin around and roll a lot or move backwards. I'm not too concerned yet. My biggest worry is that he will crawl for 3 months before walking.
I really think that your baby is gonna get there at his own time. Sometimes doctors/pediatricians can add to the stress by putting those “rules” or “milestones” and I feel that every baby is different. Our baby was in the hospital for a whole month after birth, and they thought she was gonna be behind on her growth but she’s doing amazing. She’s 7 months old and it’s not “crawling” but she’s mobile in her own perfect way. By saying all of this, don’t compare to others. If you’ve some concern you can talk to a PT just to make sure that everything is okay, but again I really think your baby is gonna get there whenever he’s ready!!
My lil guy is almost 8 months and still not crawling! He sits up well with the occasional falling over. He's definitely interested in going on tummy and will almost be in a crawling stance but will then flip on back. I think it's around the corner tho. He has 2 bottom teeth coming in so I think he is distracted with that atm
@Ana I’m constantly trying Timmy time but he immediately pushes himself to roll on his back. Which I’m sure he will stop doing eventually but he will cry until he’s able to roll back onto his back. He will also roll to his front but it’s wayyyy more frequently to his back where he gets no tummy time anymore. I will try that feet push though, thank you!!
It’s the same here with this girl 🤣 I’ll put her on tummy time but she says “screw this” and rolls onto her back so it can be tricky but you got this mama💕 patience is key
Mine is 7.5 months too and not crawling yet. We’re not too worried, she’ll get there!
Instead of tummy time, graduate him to all fours. Put his knees under his hips and help him rock back and forth. This will help initiate crawling. And fyi-not all babies crawl, some skip it entirely.
My friends son didn’t crawl until one year and he walked at 15 months 🤷🏾♀️His doctor said it was very normal. Don’t rush it just enjoy your baby
My pediatrician told me that crawling was a 9 month goal. My baby just scoots backwards, but I have learned babies get to where they need to be on their own time, not on an artificial timeline.
Mine is crawling but she is the only one we know around her age that is! She HATED being on her back so I think it led to her being more comfortable on her belly/learning to push up pretty early. I don’t think it’s a problem at all— let him work on sitting up comfortably first. I gave her lots of time on our bed to get her comfy sitting/falling where she wouldn’t hit her head on anything and I think that helped a lot. I’ve also heard many babies skip the crawling stage altogether. They end up scooting or army crawling and then will go straight to walking, so don’t put too much pressure on yourself! It sounds like he’s right on track with most of the babies I know.
I’m sure everything is ok💕kiddos develop differently. Mine is 7 and a half months old and also can’t crawl but she can’t sit and everything else. I’m sure both our kiddos will get there when they’re ready. Try to work with them a bit more by doing more tummy time and putting their little feet against the wall or something to teach them to push
