Toddler hurt at nursery by other child

So my toddler got scratched on the face yesterday at nursery by another child as they were both fighting over the same car in the garden. Now today I get a call that my son was again fighting over a toy with another child (they didn’t say if it was the same child) and this other child then proceeds to bite my son probably out of anger which left a mark. I was absolutely livid!! At this point I’m not really sure how to approach this - would a child be removed from a nursery for bad behaviour? Also has anyone ever escalated for similar situation?

My son has been bitten twice by the same boy, but when you see them together they're like the best of friends! So while I understand it's upsetting, I don't think you can call it 'bad behaviour'. He's at a preschool so it's smaller with more staff on it and it hasn't happened since so hopefully it was a phase of the other boy, which I know they all have!

A child won’t be removed for this no I wouldn’t have thought. Unfortunately some children do go through biting stages. My son bit a couple of times when he was little. I was mortified as he had obviously been taught this was wrong. Thankfully he only did it a few time.

My toddler got concussion from another child hitting her on the head last week with a metal utensil in the mud kitchen 😭

@Rachel oh my gosh that’s awful, hope your little one is ok now x

This behaviour is normal at this age. Your child might be the one doing the biting/scratching/hitting at some point, saying it from personal experience as my daughter was bitten and months later she was the one that bit a child 🙈 it’s humbling
