Little one not smiling yet

My little boy is 10 weeks and we haven’t had so much as a glimpse of a smile yet I’ve tried everything; singing to him, funny faces, smiling up close, talking to him in silly voices, my daughter plays with him, sings to him. I talk to him constantly and when I’m not he can still hear us because my daughter’s there and being a toddler doesn’t stop talking till she’s asleep haha. When should I worry about him smiling? My daughter had smiled by 6 weeks and we had massive smiles constantly from then on and we haven’t even had one yet from him and he’s nearly 11 weeks now. I keep being told that because he was early he’ll be on a different timeline but he was only a couple weeks early

I’ve found it really helpful to have the Wonder Weeks app. It gives you an idea about what milestones babies might be meeting at what time. If he was a few weeks early, his development should be measured by using his due date, not birth date. So if he’s nearly 11 weeks now and was 3 or 4 weeks early, he should be at week 7 or 8 developmentally. If you’re still worried in a week or two, maybe talk to a health visitor for advice. Xx

My baby was 4 weeks early, he's 13 weeks now (9 weeks corrected) and he's sort of smirking but not proper smiles. It's really hard when I see others at 6 weeks super smiley but I'm trying to be patient

@Erin my baby is 15 weeks but 7 weeks early and we’ve only had 2 proper smiles appear in the last week. I feel you it’s so tough comparing to others but they’ll get there ❤️
