Changing to bottle

My LO is 3 months now and showing signs of teething so I am trying to switch him to bottle instead of breast. I plan to wean him off slowly but he won't take to the bottle at all. He used to drink from the bottle when my MIL visited for a month when he was just a few weeks old but I didn't keep up with it out of convenience and now I'm struggling to get him back to it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏 he will open his mouth for me to put it in but he won't suck and then just spits the teat out

What teats are you using? When I transitioned we used Lansinoh as they’re specifically developed for breast to bottle babies, baby took to them straight away and happily took both whilst we weaned off breast. Sometimes they can be fussy and you have to try a few teat types before they take to it!

@Jess I'm using nuk teats, i tried avent and mam before but he didn't take to them, he only drank with nuk ones but now he's not 🥹

Just to say that my daughter is almost 6 months old and has been showing signs of teething for the last 3 months but still has nothing at all. Just wanted to let you know incase that is your only reason for switching to bottle.

@Emma it's not my only reason but thank you anyway x

@Jessica ohh no bless him, I would give the Lansinoh ones a try just because everyone raved about them for this purpose! Only other advice I have is to get someone else to feed him the bottle so he doesn’t smell it coming from you, we started with bedtime bottles first as she was so tired I don’t think she was too bothered about the difference! Stick with it I’m sure he’ll get there x
