Weight gain help

What is the best way to get my baby to gain weight? She gets cereal in her bottles and eats cereal by itself. Her doctor said she’s on the smaller side and told me to just feed her cereal but she already eats cereal. Her twin brother is only 2 lbs more than her.

Is she showing any signs of readiness to eat other food? (Holds her head up, can sit up well in a high chair, looks interested in food) because you can give her baby safe foods and mix in some olive oil for extra fat! My daughter loves avocado mashed with olive oil (:

@Jenna she holds her head up, sits up well, and is most definitely interested in foods. She even hears a wrapper and she’s eyeballing whatever it is. 😂 she’s had mashed potatoes, mashed bananas(which she doesn’t like too much), refried beans, and honestly anything I’ve had that’s smashed.

100% add some olive oil in there for her! Sounds like she’ll love it 🥰 whole milk yogurt is a great thing to add to her diet too. She’s adorable!

If it’s something you’re comfortable with you could look into Baby led weaning. It can explain more about how to feed baby any table food without specifically mashing it. Like the right ways to cut things to make them not a choking hazard and such. But it would allow to ability to offer more calories throughout the day. Also know that doctors are wonderful and knowledgeable but also sometimes overly cautious. If baby is developing on track and eating regularly and is having plenty of pees and poops then she’s perfectly healthy. And just a little smaller which is probably perfect for her.

My lo is the same age & weight as yours & her dr also said she was on the smaller side but as long as she stayed on her curve & didn’t drop off she was ok
