Weaning

May sound like a stupid question but no one tells you about this weaning crack. What way would you work giving them dinner if their bedtime is 7.30? Would you do bottle, dinner, bed ? Or dinner earlier, bottle an hour later then bed? For example I gave my baby dinner then at 7.30 barely drank any of his bottle and you want them to have milk moreso than food at this age. (6 months)

Food earlier we usually give between the last 2 bottles so maybe about 30m-1hr after 2nd to last bottle

My eldest used to have her tea at 4.30 I know it’s super early but gave her time to digest before bed and aligned with nursery when she went. We also started weaning with just lunch, then added breakfast and tea in later weeks. I read “how to wean your baby” by Charlotte Stirling-reed which gave a step by step

We're going to do dinner at 6pm then bottle afterwards, but we're going to do finger foods at dinner so he can eat with us (we normally eat at 6pm anyway) and puree the rest of the time until he can eat a bit better. So he probably won't be eating much at dinner for a while anyway.

We do dinner at 4.15ish then he will have a bed time bottle at 6.45pm but he’s taken quite well to weaning and eats a good dinner so need a good couple of hours between to make sure he takes a decent bottle before sleeping

I’ve just started weaning and the books I have got all recommend for the first few weeks to be giving food at lunch time. As Kathryn said the book by Charlotte Stirling-reed is really good and what we’ve been following, also found Annabel Karmels books really good and they have a good timetable in them regarding when to feed and when to give bottle x

I'd be giving dinner about 5/5.30 then bottle before bed. At this age they're only having little tastes anyway so their food intake shouldn't really be effecting how much milk they have
