Anyone else's child?

My son just turned one like 2 weeks ago, but he has refused to drink cows milk so he is still on formula at the minute. He has also went on a phase of only wanting plain food like bread sticks or wraps.. he won't eat anything else and will stick his tongue out and drop whatever it is I'm giving him. 🫣

My son never liked cows milk when he turned one I just stopped the formula and he just drank water and eat food from then on

Have you tried mixing the formula with cows milk? So a little at a time so he won’t notice too much and you can phase the formula out. Food is probably just a phase we have gone through that and my 3 year old still has phases of saying ‘I will only eat Blah’!! I just say well we don’t have that! Just keep offering everything as normal don’t make a fuss if he doesn’t eat it or then offer him a million other things, he will get it and eat eventually.

My little girl was the same when she turned one I slowly mixed them together adding more cows milk each time she then came to like the cows milk , she’s now 21 months and isn’t on any bottles which she took herself off them she just drinks juice or water now

@Naomi I've done the mixing with cows milk until it's just cows milk and he will not accept it. I think it's cause the milk isn't sweet like he formula. And I need to stop offering alternatives as I'm just worried he isn't eating enough as he can't tell me anything yet

They don’t need milk so no need to keep giving it x

@Sam My son won't sleep without a bottle so I can't just drop it yet unfortunately 😔

Maybe try almond milk if theres not a allergy, or Ive heard of like alcohol free vanilla that women use for high lipase maybe a drop or two of that may work to make it sweet like formula milk

Try Kindred toddlers milk it’s okay for them to still be on formula before introducing cows milk

I bought stage 3 formula that’s good from 12-36 months I believe so maybe try that? My son just turned one as well

Just remember cows milk is not an alternative to formula it needs to be limited to 16- 20 oz a day once he does start drinking it.

My son also never liked cows milk and I kept trying in different ways. Warm, room temperature, cold, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, added a little bit of honey, added a little bit of sugar. He didn't like any of it. So I talk with his pediatrician and she told me it's not a need since I can supplement everything he gets from the cows milk. I breastfed my son till he was 13 months old and that's when I started to wean him off of breastmilk. He's 8 days away from being 15 months old so basically his 15 months old and he still doesn't like cows milk. My son also wouldn't sleep without milk/nursing and he never took a binkie. Getting him off was a challenge but I started with no milk/nursing in the morning. When he was good with that I started no milk/nursing at nap time. Once he got use to that I went to no milk/nursing in the middle of the night. Then went to no milk/nursing at bed time. In total he was almost 14 months old when I stopped completing nursing

My son wouodnt drink homo milk either then we reventky tryed almind milk and he liked it so you could try that

I bought a low calorie sweetened creamer and put one ounce in my sons milk when he started not liking cows milk. Its been a game changer. Ive learned with picky eaters you have to get creative with food 🥲.

Tried yogurt?

i would stop the formula and just offer water & other dairy products throughout the day like cheese or yogurt

We do almond milk. Baby likes it when breast milk isn’t available

My doctor told me to put chocolate syrup or strawberry syrup in the milk now he will only drink it if it has strawberry syrup in it but even still he’s not a big fan of milk but he loves water

@Josie it’s only been two weeks.. give him time the formula is giving him a lot of nutrition. Maybe start with 2oz cows milk 4oz formula for serval days to a week, then do 4oz cows milk 2 oz formula It took my son 3 weeks to transition Give him grace time and patience it will all work it self out
