Solids

Hi everyone, Has anyone made the switch to solid food yet. Amelia is 5 months old on Friday, I know they say you should wait until 6 months. But, we were in hospital last month with her being severely constipated. Now she has stopped pooing as regular as usual again. Doctors aren't really interested until she hasn't pooed at all for 5 days but, I really don't want her to have to experience that again. Not sure what to do for the best. Also, not sure if I've made any sense 🤔 🤣 xxx

I started weaning a few weeks ago. Baby porridge/rice/fruit pouches and fruit in a dummy so she can get the juices and she’s absolutely thriving from it. Weaning my boy from 4 months and never did/done him any harm. X

@Nikki thank you! It's so hard to know what to do for the best xx

Hi Rachel have you tried the prune pouch? It works well. Also maybe lower the dairy. Too much of that in the start can constipate a little. What have you tried. Xx

Ive started with a few of the puree pouches, and my babys thriving from it, he gets stroppy when you say no more 😂😂 Like rima said the prune pouch is a good one for helping with constipation x

Try giving her cooled boiled water. That will help with the constipation.

Started weaning with my 4 month old with a baby food maker and put in potato and pumpkin, my grandma advised us to avoid fruits for now as they may give her the runs 😅

Also we don’t give it to her every day, every 3 days as advised by nhs
