Weaning Worries

My baby boy has just turned 7 months & we have been weaning him for the past 4 weeks. I started with making my own single vegetable purées and also gave him the same vegetables as finger food too to encourage BLW. I’ve tried as many vegetables as I can think of and have also followed weaning guides/charts. I’ve introduced some fruits too, Greek yogurt and also snacks like the kiddylicious wafers. I’m worrying as it’s very rare that my baby actually shallows any of the food. It’s evident that he enjoys the finger foods much more than the purées as he smiles and gets excited while eating them but still spits them out before trying again. Am I doing something wrong or is my baby just not ready? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA 😊

I started the same and my baby very quickly started hating being fed. She never liked purees as many different things I would try, she just doesn’t like being fed. I found myself really stressing about it so I just stopped and committed to BLW. She now eats or tries everything I put on her plate and she has great fun, she loves being on her chair and I find that she is eating more and more every day so I am no longer worried about food. My only worry now is that she refuses water 🥲 so yeah, now we just eat next to her and she has three meals a day, which she enjoys thoroughly even if she doesn’t eat all of it (I do put a lot of stuff on her plate 😅). Any advice to give her water would be much appreciated 🥴

My girl coughs and spits most of her food out as well. Only actually swallows a tiny amount. She does absolutely demolish yogurt though. I think she just doesn’t really understand fully how to chew and swallow her food but she is getting better. I’m pretty sure they say that exposing them to as many different foods (in different forms) is what is important and exposure could simply be touching the food or squishing it. Eventually they will eat more

Could be tongue thrust and only a matter of time before it goes
