How do I live my life and be a mum?

So for the past month or so I’d completely lost myself, nothing made me happy and I was really struggling with taking care of my son. However as of recent my partners mum had him and i decided to take that time to join the gym and it made me feel great. However I won’t be able to get into a routine of it because my son is so unpredictable and I feel a little trapped in a sense. My partner is also my gym buddy so i can’t really ask him to watch him while I go gym it just feels unfair. Any advice?

I’ve started doing home workouts as much as I would prefer to be in the gym right now it’s just not possible so I need to ride it out for a bit and adapt. I kept complaining how I can’t go to the gym and hate how I feel but I was sitting around and not doing anything about it and honestly since doing one a day I feel so much better I also go out for long walks and do some workouts outdoors too. As new mums we just have to adapt and push through you got this girl. Also if you do need a gym sesh I’m sure your partner won’t mind watching bubba your a team at the end of the day don’t feel guilty

maybe you can take turns going to the gym while the other stays home with the baby?

@Izzie well he’s my gym partner and I don’t really like going to the gym on my own

I feel the same, planning to start home workouts instead

home workouts, i put my baby in his carrier and pace the stairs and pretend i’m on the stairmaster whilst he just naps there 😅

Waking up early to have quiet time/workout time. Whenever you can get time to yourself, you take it. 🙏🏾

I know how you feel, for me my days used to be just being sat there on sofa bed,- with baby tending to him. I just look for every spare moment I can,to still do what I gotta do but have a sense of self. Even though it means going back and forth with everything till finally getting it done. I started baking at night and steaming my clothes at that time so I would have nice things to wear when going out. little things like that. And still do go to gym- try to find someone else to go with or go on your own. I find doing things on your own after being with baby all day gives you more of a boost. Dependant maybe on whether your an introvert or extrovert I guess

Do not feel bad that you are leaving baby with his father to have some me time. He wouldn’t think twice if it was the other way round.

Does it have a crèche? Most bigger gyms have a crèche. I do all my Pilates/yoga/dance lessons at night- hubby puts him to sleep for me. But we have home weights even though we do workout we don’t have gym memberships we do it at home, but the dance lessons I go to 3* a week are always around 7-8pm by the time I get home at 10.30 my toddlers alseep I know you said “you don’t like going gym on your own” but honestly, the mums that are able to make it work all go on their own. It’s a step we have to make for own MH otherwise we’d have to work around his schedule. And I’m not one to wait around for anyone. That mentality is the reason you’re struggling to fit it in coz the rest of us just grab our keys and go.

i get that, but it might be worth going on your own to get some time for yourself!

Workout from home. That’s what I do

@River-louise My boyfriend was my gym partner and I recently started going alone because now we take turns so someone can stay home to watch our little girl. I hated going alone, too. I never wanted to go if he didn’t go with, but now I’ve found my own groove at the gym. It was a little intimidating at first, but now I love going to the gym, just by myself. I agree with how better it makes me feel. I lost 40 pounds before I got pregnant and I gained that during pregnancy. None of my pre-pregnant clothes fit me anymore. It’s so saddening. So I’m trying to be disciplined and get my body back!
