Fit to fly certificate

I’m travelling with easyjet at 27 weeks and it says they don’t require a fit to fly certificate but midwife said still take one. What did you all do? And where did you get the certificate from as my midwife says she can’t provide one and gp says they don’t either 🙈

Your midwife can provide one, it’s literally just a letter in their words saying you’re fine to travel. I’d take one just incase & make sure you’ve travel insurance.

Always take one

Both told me the same too, I was 20weeks though, in the end a different doctor did it. No one asked

It is your gp that your meant to go to, if he is trying to say they don’t maybe try request a different doctor or ask your midwife again if there’s anyway for her to do it. Most airlines don’t need a fit to fly until you are 28 weeks, so if your holiday is longer than a week I’d take one to be on safe side for your return x

Take one. I was stopped by BA and Qatar at checkin and asked to provide one. Remember that staff members are sometimes contractors and ultimately they can still refuse boarding.

Easyjet don't need them until 35 weeks i think? Ryanair I think was 28 weeks, I had to pay my GP and never got asked for it (I had baggy comfy clothes on ha). I wouldn't get one if I was under the weeks, wear baggy clothes if you're worried ha! You can pay companies online to do them but if you have anything they won't do it (so my bmi was above 30 for example). You could always take your matb1 form as proof that you are under 35 weeks? Xx

I would take one just in case. I flew at 27 weeks & they asked for it on the way home - glad I had it otherwise I might’ve been stuck in Turkey! My midwife gave me mine, so that should be where you get it from. If not, maybe take a scan letter or something so they can work out how many weeks you are? X

i got one when i was 24 weeks, it wasn’t a “letter” as such, the midwife just wrote on my notes that i was safe to travel so i had that to show if i was asked. no one asked to see it anyway.

My midwife did one for me but had to pay £20 for it!
