Admittedly I did just LOL but who is using the word fat around him? It's so normal for kids to repeat everything especially if there is a reaction to him using it. My LO called me a mother fucker because she heard her uncle say it. Didn't make a fuss out of it but she has incredible understanding so we spoke about good words and bad words and to say sugar instead. She has called me a mother sugar on a couple of occasions but much better than the alternative

We have spoken about nice words but he loves that attention because he knows it’s bad and he will get told off

Same as Zoe, my little girl said mother fucker too. I think it’s a funny word to them. I said it ONCE in the car when someone cut me up on a roundabout and then that night she said to her dad “I have a daddy and a motherfucker.” We talked about good words and bad words too and she hasn’t said it again since…thankfully! x

My daughter said 'for fuck sake' and 'fucking shits' which she heard once from me. I didn't make a big deal of it just said those words are only for adults. And she's never sworn again

@Kath I actually think this is a better way to deal with it. I don’t know about other people but sometimes if I say to my child, that’s bad it almost becomes a bit tempting, like oh it’s bad so might see if I can push it. But saying those words are for adults, like I say no mummy’s Diet Coke or mummy’s chocolate is for adults, she would accept it better I think. Thanks for sharing that, I’ll try that in the future👍🏼😌
