We normally do everything fresh but I brought few porches to take with us but he refused, then whilst we were away we brought bread and fruit and didn't need much prep when we were out and about.
Like everyone else said, if there is anything you know he eats that is easily transportable, bring a couple of those. Otherwise, just give him bits from your plate while you're out and about. He'll be fine if he only noms bread dipped in sauces or whatever for a week or two.
- Just be really careful with fresh fruit & veg, making sure it’s thoroughly washed if raw & well prepared if cooked. Keep some soft fruits, biscuits or toast in a little air tight container in baby bag for snacks, - Keep a thermos of boiling water in baby bag to make a quick cereal or porridge (Heinz & Aptamil we’ve tried, tested & loved) 🥣 - Buy some ready made pouches & finger foods/puffy crisps/wafers as well as formula to keep on hand, - Keep a bowl & sippy cup in baby bag, I didn’t start using hotel/restaurant utensils till my little one turned 1 🫶🏻 - Antibacterial wipes & hand sanitiser! I should have shares with Dettol at this point 😂
We went away at a similar age, just bought some pouches/jars of baby food in local stores plus avocado to mash as an alternative (Germany so no concerns), and then gave her bits of what we ate - eg bread. I think she liked the store bought baby food over my homemade efforts as she started to show an interest in food for the first time!
We went away when our baby was just over seven months last year, we started on BLW at six months (where baby eats what you eat) so I just made sure to take his bibs, suction plate and wipes with us to meals everyday and either made him a plate up from the buffet or chose something from the kids menus at the alc. I just made sure things were cut appropriately before giving him the plate. Our hotel also had a blender/puree-er available for parents to use who were following traditional weaning though so it might be worth checking with your hotel too. At just over six months, your LB will probably still only be on one or two meals a day which will make it easier too ☺️
When we go away we mainly use pouches but at breakfast i will ask for a well done boiled egg to give or toast/fruit etc x
