My LG has the exact same problem at 4mo. Doesn't help she has eczema as well. The part on her forehead has gone a bit bald from the rubbing and very sore. I'm using the anti scratch mitts, not sure if they help much but that combined with the Merlins magic sleep suit seems to help somewhat.
Yh she has eczema too which is partly the problem but I think the forehead rubbing at night it mostly a self soothing mechanism. We have mittens that she escapes so maybe with give other ones a go and look into special sleep suits. Worth a try. Thank you!
My boy also escapes mitts pretty easily so we’ve started putting socks on his hands, pull them right up to his armpits and he can’t get them off! Haven’t had any night scratches since!
That's how eczema started for our LO. Turning and tossing a lot to scratch himself while sleeping. The worst thing was that by scratching that much bacteria got in... So we have now Scratchsleeves with silk on mitten parts, which helps prevent bacteria spreading. Using them now for 2 months and so far so good. Also like a crazy frequency of putting paraffin on the face. Every time when I wake up and before every nap, during night wakings.
My little one is the exact same. I lather him in cream on an evening before bed. I just use the aveeno baby soothing face cream. He make himself look like Harry Potter last week scratching his forehead
