Yes you can just boil the water before you go to sleep and leave it in a pitcher or insulated tumbler/anything that’ll keep it the same-ish temp overnight and use that to make the formula :)
Also I agree with the above poster, let baby latch as many times as they like because they may be cluster feeding and it will help build your supply. Their saliva will tell your body to make more milk. And also stay hydrated + eat as much as you can!
For the bottles, you can prepare in advance following the manufacturer instructions amd put the milk in the back of the fridge, use it within 24h, you can watm the milk as needed in w bowl of boilingwater for a couples of minutes...... The 30 min wait is to get the water at 70 degrees as boiling water would kill bacteria and the good nutrients of the milk. You could also do the hot shot method, but same thing, the water shouldn't be boiling. Regarding the latching issue, if you really want to breastfeed keep trying, offer the breast first, you can surely find a feeding café in you area, they are usually a lactation consultant that could help, ask your midwife otherwise, they can help with the latching issue. Check if your baby has tongue tie. if your baby keeps crying after being clean, burp, is not too hot, he is most likely hungry, they eat a lot at that age, especially breastfed babies
Or you can get a Nuby flash that cools water/milk quick
You can always buy baby breeza they have a formula maker that you can use , that way it can be a lot easier for you
Thank you all so much for your responses ❤️ and the encouragement to keep trying with the breastfeeding, I definitely want to!!! If we do the flask method do we need to sterilise the flask? Or just buy a new one? We have one but I’ve used it for tea and coffee before so not sure if we can use that?
@Kathryn just wash/sterilize that one and it’s fine :) as long as it’s not super old
You can get the baby distilled water bottles and use that to make them when you are on the go. Also do not give up on breastfeeding my baby did not latch for 3 weeks and he all of a sudden started! Just try to at least let baby try to latch.
