Dropping a milk feed advise

Hi, LO is 8 months and I’d like to start looking at dropping one feed. In 24hr period LO has 5bottles. 1 of the bottles being in the night. Did people find an easier time to drop a bottle? Such a lunch or mid afternoon ect? We currently offer breakfast & dinner. And average bottles are 7am’ish, breakfast in between 11:30ish, 14:00/14:30 ish and Dinner then bedtime bottle. But wondered if people have advise on how to do it. Our HV said to offer solids 3 times a day before a bottle, but we’ve also been advised to offer milk first (for 1st year) then a hour or so later offer the solids. I’m so confused and would like some assistance if anyone can help. Thank you.

Milk is more important than food at this age, how many oz is your little one having in a 24 hour period? You need to make sure they’re still getting enough if you drop a feed

Following because in same predicament exactly with trying to drop bottles. My son who is 8.5 months seems to vomit if he has milk then some food not long after 😬 trying to balance it is hardddd

I don’t do breakfast my little one will never eat it. She’ll wake at 7/7:30 have her first bottle at 9am then she’ll nap at 10-11:30 have a bottle when she wakes up then she has some lunch at 12:30/13:00 she has another bottle 14:30 and then naps 15:00-16:00 then her dinner at 17:00/17:15 then bedtime routine from 18:00 bottle at about 19:00 then bed and that’s it. She has four bottles in 24 hours and she’ll drink no more than 4/5oz she’s never drank more than 4/5oz. Milk is more important because of the nutrients and all in the milk but if you’re giving a balanced and healthy diet to your baby then what’s the big deal in dropping a bottle if that’s what you want to do. I’m not going to do it till she’s ready to. Some days she will only have three and the 11:30 bottle gets dropped it depends on what’s happening and what we’re doing if she’s busy and distracted as in out of the house then she doesn’t really want it.

Thank you all. I’m not sure if I’m ready to be honest. She has never been the biggest milk drinker. She can have anything between 23oz/34oz a day. (higher is usually a growth spurt or a hunger day) I say this because at the moment she’s on the lower scale and has been for a couple weeks due to we think teething. I find breakfast so hard. But dinner is our easiest. So I think maybe I’m feeling too much pressure off the HV and should just go at my own pace and my LG’s. @Paige thank you for your comment on bottle amount as I always thought it was odd that my LG would have small bottles in comparison to friends babies. 💖

@Eileen so hard to find the balance when HV and different people say different advise :(

@Danielle it really varies if I’m honest! I think I’ll look to keep the feeds and ignore the pressure from Hvy
