Formula feeders

Hi! Has any mums who formula feed, given their little one hungry baby formula at 7 weeks old? I think my little one has silent reflux, and I think part of it is due to him guzzling his bottle so quickly. I read that the doctor will probably just give a thickener, so I wondered if the hungrier baby formula was thicker and if it would prevent him drinking so fast. I already sit him upright whilst he drinks and take regular winding breaks, and I leave up upright for 30 minutes after his finished the bottle, so the formula is my last potential try before it’s a trip to the doctors🤦🏼‍♀️

What sized teat is he on, and how many oz is he on? May be worth changing the teat and upping an ounce rather than changing the formula if he’s only 7 weeks he’s just getting used to the formula he’s using currently! Good luck Mumma🩷

His got size 1 teats and on 7oz bottles, if I give him 8oz he ends up with a huge tummy and screaming cause it’s too much milk in one go 😫xx

We are on comfort formula which is slightly thicker (for colic and constipation) and it’s made no difference to his hunger. He had a tongue tie cut recently and we changed the bottle brand which has slowed him down massively and I’ve seen an improvement. If you’re using mam bottles I would recommend a size 0 teat if you are sticking to normal milk, it’s much slower than the 1. Also I recommend following someone like ‘the reflux lady’ on instagram as she advocates that there is always a reason for reflux xx
