How to feed baby AND myself

I work full time, my partner just had major surgery, and we have twins. I'm exhausted, and I'm having trouble getting myself to cook anything. I've mostly been eating soups, frozen meals, and ordering out. I've bought some baby food to feed my 6 m/o twin babies. I feel like I can't get it together to eat healthier. I used to meal prep every month, but I haven't in months. At least the babies are getting vegetables with the jarred baby food, even if I'm not. People say to feed what you eat, but what I'm eating, i think, might have too much salt. Idk if there's a food service that you could do that meal preps for you that maybe isn't high salt. I'm also worried that I'm not setting them up do it success with food. I love food and I used to eat better than this but I feel like cooking is this huge struggle.

First of all I’m gunna say you’re amazing for working full time, probably helping a lot with your husband, anddd handling 6mo twins👏 completely understandable you’re so burnt out on other things you’re too tired for your own food. Is there any way to make a bulk of something quick? If you like egg maybe egg white and spinach bites made in a muffin tin, or bunch of protein pancakes to freeze if you’re making regular pancakes one day. I’d also suggest just making a big thing of white rice, or get salad kits. Even that for like 3 days as a side is easy guaranteed healthy nutrition! I don’t work but I have 3, 2, &1yo I’m always moving/cleaning so prepping/freezing extra gives me a break

Sorry hella long but yeah i also just throw chicken breasts in my crockpot til it’s done and use that as the protein for salad or rice I hope this helps some easy prep ideas for a few days at a time

You have a lot on your plate! It sounds like you’re doing the best that you can for your situation…and that’s all you can do. Don’t beat yourself up. It’s hard trying to help your partner recover on top of managing and handling infant twins AND trying to work full time! I’m in a similar boat and today was actually my reset day. You need some self care time-make it mandatory so you don’t burn yourself out. Is there anyone that can watch the twins for a few hours other than your partner?

I don't know where you live but in the UK there is Wiltshire farm foods, which makes meals which are mainly aimed at old people, so I would assume lower in sodium.

Not sure where you are but have you tried this? Seen a few people say its good but never tried it myself as I've got twin boys but not working at the moment so I've got the time x

If this is an option for you, ask someone (friend or family) to help you prepare a few baby meals and freeze. I normally cook at the weekend 2, 3 types of food for my baby and freeze. I also just boil veggies and blend for pasta sauce and freeze.

Try Stocked (UK) they have adult and child ready made ragus, curries, casseroles, and so on in microwaveable blocks, you can portion them loads of different ways, and all you need to do is cook the carbs. They're pretty healthy and the kids bolognese has hidden veg in it! Good luck :)

@Joanne not sure if you meant to include a link, but it's missing if you did.

Of course I did 🤣 https://www.vandme.co.uk/ Thank you @Emmo

I use LittleSpoon. I work 2 full time jobs and help with childcare too. I’m exhausted. Cooking is the last thing I wanna do. I sometimes finish off their LittleSpoon when they don’t

I bulk cook all the time, curries, pastas, meat and veg etc... don't add salt just to my own plate. It's so much easier!
