Struggling with at-home days

I am 8 months pregnant and have a 2.5 year old toddler. I’m honestly struggling with our days at home. She’s not interested in playing with any of her toys, she’s being stubborn in general and is no longer listening. I’ve managed to bake with her a couple times but it only takes up an hour every week. I can take her for a walk to the park but it’s getting more tiring and she often wants to be carried, which I can’t do for long periods anymore. I don’t know what to do with her during the day! 😩 Any suggestions are much appreciated

No suggestions but just to say I get it Nothing lasts more than 5 mins of entertainment I’m trying to do a bit of chill time so I’m not constantly around him as I think I feel the need to constantly entertain him

@Emma Same! I generally leave her to do her own thing for as long as she’ll let me, but it generally escalates to something naughty 🫣 if we could just play with her toys it would be fine but she’s lost interest!

How many toys are out and available?

My little girl loves stickers? Keeps her entertained for a while? Now the weathers nicer I’ve been going outside and letting her play with her water table (put warm bubbly water in it)… and she enjoys that! You could get her to water your flowers? I try and get her to help me with chores - like putting the washing in the machine etc. Get some chalk to draw on floors outside? It’s a hard age isn’t it 😩 x

@Natalie we used to do a toy rotation that worked (for a little bit), but then we moved and haven’t properly set up a play area for her yet. It’s spread out over 2-3 rooms.

@Natalie she has stickers, but isn’t too interested anymore. We got outside and used the play table this weekend, it worked the first time but I tried bubbles today and she got bored in 5 mins and came back inside. I normally ask if she wants to help with chores but isn’t interested anymore. We could certainly try watering flowers, thanks for the suggestion! And she normally enjoys chalk so will be remembering that as well, thanks!

Definitely have bits set up that are open ended. Blocks, magnatiles, sand, water, drawing. Not too many toys available at any one time

If they’re not interesting to her it might be that she needs something more open ended and matching to her skill set (more advanced materials)!
