Easy first feeds for baby led weaning?

My baby does so well with his food but he has been having mainly purees (which have gotten chunkier each month) alongside finger foods. But what are the best things to start baby led weaning with for a mom who is scared of choking?

We did scrumbled eggs, eggs omelettes, broccoli, pancakes, cooked soft vegetables, veggies bits. I’d say whatever as long as you are able to smash them between your fingers with minimum pressure and when they get used to chew. I made sure veggies were oily so easier to slip out just in case. The earlier you start the earlier they undersand chewing and not only swalling. Ask GP advice on how to perform Heimlich maneuver for you to feel safer and more confident, but as long as you follow the safe cuts and consistency you will be fine ❤️ ps. your floor will be a mess 😅

Mango pit, chicken drumstick, crusty bread, porridge, yoghurt, whole strawberries… I used solid starts for how to serve foods, but generally I served food larger than baby’s mouth- if they can’t fit it in they can’t choke on it being my logic. Also lots of modelling so eating food in front of them with big exaggerated chewing with your mouth open, take tiny bites to show them how to bite food and also showing them how to spit food out if it’s too big to swallow

Everything above, also avocado is easy to mash! Like she said above here though, use the solid starts app (free section works well) to learn how to serve food depending on baby’s stage.
